Webinar | Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Additive Manufacturing Processes

Artificial Intelligence is taking on an increasingly relevant role in the transformation of industrial processes, contributing to increased efficiency, improved product quality, and accelerated innovation. In the field of Additive Manufacturing, the combination of these technologies opens up new opportunities to optimize production processes and develop solutions with higher added value.

With the aim of making concrete applications of this technological evolution known, AIDA CCI and the INOV.AM consortium are hosting, on June 17th, the webinar “Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Additive Manufacturing Processes”, aimed at companies and industry professionals.

This initiative is held within the scope of the INOV.AM Agenda, supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and the NextGenerationEU European Funds, which aim to strengthen the innovation, digitalization, and competitiveness of the Portuguese business fabric.

From research to industrial application

The session will be led by Professor José Martinho Oliveira, PhD in Materials Science and Engineering and Director of the Aveiro North Higher School (ESAN) of the University of Aveiro. He is a researcher at CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials, a reference Associated Laboratory in the field of advanced materials, and an expert in 3D printing, robocasting, FFF, polymeric materials, and thermoplastic composites for industrial and biomedical applications.

Throughout his career, he has maintained a strong connection to the business fabric through collaborative projects with companies, roles performed at IAPMEI, business management activities, and industrial property. He is also President of the National Technical Committee for Standardization CT 220 – Additive Manufacturing.

Case study: Costa Verde Company

During the webinar, a case study on the application of Additive Manufacturing at the company Costa Verde will be presented, demonstrating how Artificial Intelligence can support industrial development, production, and optimization processes.

The session will allow participants to understand the potential of these technologies in a business context, identifying opportunities for practical application and the benefits they can generate in terms of competitiveness and innovation.
